Girl MOM
Keima had the honor to collectively breastfeed both her girls (Maddie and Kayla) for 33 months. Maddie and Kayla have been the motivation and mirrors to move from surviving to thriving. She doesn’t always get it right in parenting and invites growth and grace in her life daily.
Thriving Lineage represents her passion for honoring the past and future as she focuses on living a life of choice. When you uplift and support Thriving Lineage in any capacity you are supporting a mom-founded small business on a mission. Keima credits the prenatal breastfeeding education she received over 12 years ago as the reason she achieved her identified breastfeeding goals.
This prenatal experience is the “why” behind Keima’s commitment to breastfeeding and parenting. Keima has a personal commitment to providing quality parental education and working towards solutions to problems that force many parents to not start or maintain breastfeeding.
Infant Feeding Journey
Keima is a parent educator and social service subject matter specialist. She has over 15 years of direct support and leadership experience in nonprofit, health and human services. She has facilitated professional development in the areas of parent engagement and restorative practices for nonprofits and early-childhood professionals. On her journey to becoming a lactation consultant, she obtained 95 hours of lactation-specific education and over 500 clinical hours in a local hospital and pediatric clinics.
Keima is grateful for the families that invited her into their sacred birthing space. Annually she participates in 15 hours of continuing education. This helps Keima to stay updated on trends and topics related to infant feeding, child development, and parenting.
Keima is a certified facilitator with Chocolate Milk Cafe. Chocolate Milk Cafe is a peer-led lactation support group for families of the African Diaspora providing human milk to their young. You can find Keima and other dedicated facilitators supporting families during the monthly Chocolate Milk Cafe: Greater Charlotte Chapter support group.
